Carry Yourself with Poise Course Review

Jennifer L. Scott’s Madame Chic series.

Welcome back, ladies! I think most of you are familiar with the talented author of the Madame Chic series, Jennifer L. Scott. She recently debuted an online course called “Carry Yourself with Poise.” I thought I would do a little review for you now that I have finished it.

If you have read her Madame Chic trilogy, in particular her third book, Polish your Poise with Madame Chic then you will love this e-course!

In Jennifer’s words:

“Carry Yourself with Poise” is an eCourse where I encourage women to live with beauty, class, and dignity. This course is striking a chord with the ladies who are there. They are a remarkable group of like-minded women and we are bonding over the content.

It discusses everything from the “seen” aspects of cultivating poise to the “unseen”. If you had a beautiful diamond ring, you would need to polish it regularly to keep it clean, otherwise it would start to look dingy and dirty. Our poise is a beautiful gem… a rarity that requires regular polishes to stay au courant.

My hope with this eCourse, is that we cover the comprehensive bases that are required to stand out from the crowd and live a beautiful and refined life, with poise, as elegant women. I am so excited for you to join us on this life-changing journey.”

Course Structure

The course is divided into several “lectures” or videos (almost three hours) with accompanying text and mini quizzes. The topics covered are:

  • Appearance

  • Wardrobe

  • Style & Beauty (Make-up, Hair, Nails)

  • Posture

  • Eye-Contact

  • Speech

  • Confidence

  • Class

  • How to deal with un-poised People

  • Conflicts

  • A Dignified Conclusion

There is room for comments at the end of each lecture and you can find many lively and interesting discussions among the ladies there. Jennifer states at the very beginning of the course that she will not be able to answer questions but to my surprise she was pretty active in the comment section.

Is this course right for you?

In my opinion this course is for you if you:

  • Are a fan of Jennifer L. Scott’s books and Youtube channel.

  • Have read Polish your Poise with Madame Chic but need a refresher.

  • Looking for a community of like-minded ladies.

  • Need some extra motivation to work on yourself.

My Thoughts

It was lovely to spend time with Jennifer, and learn more about her habits and personal tips. What really stood out for me is Jennifer’s humble nature and wise words. She openly admits her faults and that she too is working on her poise.

Jennifer does not seek to give fashion advice or a strict set of do’s and don’ts rather, she encourages us to examine our own behavior and code of conduct. Yes, the ” ten-item wardrobe” is discussed as well as tips on laundry, and a live demonstration of her at home manicure and “le no make-up look” routine but those are just suggestions.

“Look presentable always” is one of her mottoes and she stresses that this will look different for each individual. Perhaps for you that means clean hair and nails, minimal make-up or no make-up at all and that is OK- (as long as it’s not yoga pants! One of Jennifer’s well known pet-peeves, LOL).

You get to define what presentable means to you because in the end that’s what it’s all about. You feeling confident and joyful and transmitting that to the people in your life.

Conclusion

This course is the perfect companion to Polish your Poise with Madame Chic as it goes into a lot of detail on each of the topics as well as showing you live demonstrations (nails & makeup).

I enjoyed listening to most of the lectures while doing laundry or gardening which was very practical.

Jennifer ‘s pricing ($10.00) is also extremely reasonable. If you need a little extra motivation to take care of yourself and make your life more poised and elegant then you will surely get a lot out of this course.
